Brief

Zelo - Smart made Simple.

A leader in the industry for over 20 years, Advanced Lifestyle Solutions and Urban Intelligence recently joined together to form a new group specialising in end-to-end integrated technology solutions for residential, commercial and retail projects. Providing a wide and encompassing range of services, a new name, brand identity, website and collateral rollout was required for the group to communicate their vision and provide bespoke custom technology-driven solutions.

Solution

BrandWorks took an outsider's perspective to their business and category. In a fast paced industry where technology drives change and disruption, the position for the brand was to focus on the outcomes and less on the technology jargon. The direction taken was to remove the complexity technology brings and provide simple and seamless experience for their clients.

The name was an abstraction of 'hello', using the letter 'Z' to imply technology and smart design. Inspired by broadcast analogue signals, an interactive waveform pattern was developed to convey the progressive culture behind the team. The Zelo wordmark is shaped with smooth, flowing curves and unexpected intersections. The use of lowercase and rounded letter forms suggests a friendly and approachable service. The collateral roll out took the form of livery decals for their service team, uniforms, posters, stationery and business cards. BrandWorks collaborated with copywriters, Apostrophe, to define their tone of voice and strap lines for marketing and website uses. A website was designed and developed with a familiar app-design aesthetic, incorporating video sequences and a photo shoot of the founders and Zelo staff.
