Skip is a go-to food ordering platform that simplifies and connects quality venues with quality people, making the moments enjoyed and time remembered. Skip is available at more than 1,400 cafes and restaurants across Australia. Using the app you can pre-order and pay, and skip the queue when you pick it up.

— The Brief

BrandWorks was approached by the online ordering app Skip to assist in the repositioning and re defining of the brand to be a Food & Drink ordering app. At the time of engagement, Skip was successful in the market, but felt it was more than just a coffee-crowd pleaser. Skip had a vision and engaged brandworks to bring this vision to life.


— Our Approach

A clever-cool balance of slick and playful elements combine in a manner that says "high-brow fun". Restrained, modernist right angles divide clean, neutral space for a fresh minimalist look while a twist of bright colour pops, dynamic iconography and lively shapes provide the play. The colour palette evolves for high contrast sophistication.

A draw-outside-the-lines freedom defines this concept. It's all about energized play, it's carefree abandon, no restraint needed thanks! It's spacious and simple sometimes, but the spaces are loaded with potential; a scribble might pop up at any moment to interrupt the order! The palette expands into a striking, distinctly contemporary system. Active, dynamic illustrations and icons give a sense of the human hand, even on-screen. The concept never strays into total childishness, it just loosens us up to get in touch with that joyful part of ourselves.
