A little ray of sunshine.
Welcoming our local community and visitors alike, Miss Lucy is a family-friendly spot sharing great coffee, fresh cakes, and nourishing, hearty meals. Sitting on the edge of the Blackburn Lake Sanctuary, Miss Lucy is taking a small idea on a big adventure.
BrandWorks was engaged by experienced hospitality operators Dennis Schalker and Elaina Dipalma to conceptualise and articulate a new brand identity for a farm-to-table eatery and cafe that emphasised the importance of shared, wholesome food and menu handmade with seasonal produce and lots of love. The name Miss Lucy was inspired by Elaina’s own childhood nickname, and it served as the preface to the brand story, Warm, happy, and filled with good food, with a garden kitchen that you’ll always find something to eat. Naturally, the brand direction was influenced by the cafe’s surroundings. Established trees and grassy plains to roam free in, the brand identity conjures a sense of freedom where nature and good food come together.
The colour palette is reminiscent of warm, sunlit days spent under eucalyptus and clear skies. It is friendly and embraces the park side landscape, inviting the outdoors into seamlessly connect our guests with the garden surrounds.
Welcome to Miss Lucy—the newest kid in town.
