Fusion at the heart of flavour.
Located in the busy shopping district of Springvale, DAKAO HOANG has been serving soupy broths and hot bowls of Pho and Vietnamese specialities to locals since 1996. For Khiem Lam and his sister, their father’s legacy has now been handed over to them. With fresh ideas and home-style inspiration for the menu, they are looking to appeal to a whole new generation of Vietnamese dining and locals alike.
BrandWorks was engaged to refresh the brand identity, menu design and collateral. The studio was also asked to align the new brand with a new interior design. With a strong desire to hold to their authenticity and traditional heritage, the interiors took guidance from colours, motifs and architectural cues commonly seen in South-East Asia. DAKAO refers to a district in Ho Chi Minh and HOANG. translates to “Gold”. The brand is heavily influenced by family symbols and seals representing their backgrounds. The colours consist of emerald greens, jade and mustard gold, with royal red and pink for highlight accents. The seal brandmark is both traditional and noteworthy, honouring the history and length of time they have been established in Springvale.
